Multiple Entry Access Options

This apartment building telephone door intercom system is a hardwired system which delivers a powerful set of entry access features to residents of multi-unit dwellings. Entry access features include Postal Lock option, conventional keyed door entry access for the building common entrance, alternate keyless door entry access by residents and individual door screening for each apartment unit.

Keyed Entry Access

Building entry door will have a regular lock, with key copies in possession of building's residents. Residents will use their keys for normal access into the building. The electric doorstrike installed at the jamb of the entrance door will passively interlock with the door lock, allowing unlock by the door key to residents coming in as well as unlock by residents inside units after taking a door intercom call by a visiting guest.

Keyless Entry Access

Alternatively the keyless feature of the Entry Access Panel may be enabled to allow residents to access the building by punching a code on the keypad of the Panel. The electric doorstrike will unlatch under electrical control of the Intercom Panel for about 3 seconds allowing resident to pull the door open. Thereafter it will latch again locking the door once it returns into the frame. The same mechanism applies when residents release from their handsets the entrance door to their guests. Convenience at the tips of building's residents. The keyless access feature from the embedded keypad may be enabled or disabled at convenience.

Optional Apartment Doorphone

Every apartment unit in the building may have an individual door screening device at their own entry door. This doorphone provides inside-building security screening. Residents won't need to hang around the entry door or leave their apartment door open after they let somebody in at the lobby. They can still be alerted at handsets to screen anyone at their entry door from wherever they are in the home. They may connect to their doorphone at any time to check on unusual activity on the floor. Further the video-enabled doorphone with its concealed miniature color camera will allow for complete visual screening! No doubt that many times threats arise inside the very condominium!

Optional Postal Lock

In buildings with mailboxes behind the keyed entrance door, an outdoor lock may be installed for postal personnel to gain access to the mailboxes. Mount the lock in any convenient faceplate, enclosure or weather-proof box.
